First post!
Welcome to Bird Park, in Mt. Lebanon. This is an ideal Pittsburgh location to practice speech and language carryover activities. For example, children can practice /r/ in the medial position by reciting the name of the park: Bird Park.
Final consonant deletion can also be targeted, by emphasizing the end sounds of the park name: Bird Park. A good cue is, "Remember to put the sounds on the end of your words."
Initial consonant deletion can be targeted by emphasizing the beginning sounds, as in Bird Park. A good cue is to remind children to "pop" their lips at the start of each word; visual cues for the /b/ and /p/ sounds also help.
